Leopold’s Ice Cream Celebrates 97 Years of Tasty Memories!
Annual Birthday Block Party Saturday, August 20th!
The dancers are ready, the Savannah Children’s Choir is in tune, the DIRTT Kid’s Zone is stocked with free kids’ fun and the final sprinkles have been added to the Birthday Cake Ice Cream. That can only mean one thing … Birthday Block Party time at Leopold’s Ice Cream!
Come help us celebrate 97 years of Tasty Memories! Join us at 212 East Broughton Street for music, games, contests (a chance to win a year of free ice cream in our photo booth!) and dancing in the street. In recognition of our 97 years in Savannah, and as a way to thank Savannah and our surrounding communities for their long and loyal support, Leopold’s will offer ninety-seven cent single scoops all day. The party starts at eleven and continues until 7pm with live music from The Twinz and a Dixieland Cruisers classic car show to round out the day.
This year’s DIRTT Kids’ Zone will feature free arts, crafts, face painting and games. The Live Oak Public Libraries will be on hand with great activities and Oatland Island will be bringing some of their animals to visit. There’s even a Blessing in a Bookbag drop-off point for school supplies, non-perishable food items and gently used school uniforms. Drop off your donation and receive a coupon for a BOGO scoop of Leopold’s Ice Cream! We’ll need kids (young and young at heart) to help us blow out the candles and cut our birthday cake at 3 p.m. in front of the shop.
Free and fun for the entire family!

Leopold’s Ice Cream was founded in Savannah, Georgia in 1919 by three brothers from Greece. Peter, Basil and George passed their tradition of making super premium ice cream in the shop, one batch at a time down to Peter’s youngest son, Stratton. Stratton and his wife Mary own and operate Leopold’s today. Their commitment to arts and education in the community is second only to their commitment to creating the highest quality ice cream possible in a fun, family environment.
